Summary – “How hard can it be… just take aim and shoot”
Clay Pigeon shooting is a competitive shooting activity that involves shooting a propelled object (Clay) as it is fired through the air. The shooter has just a few moments to take aim and fire. There are many disciplines to clay shooting to offer maximum competition. And they evolve around the clay being fired from different starting locations and the number of clays being shots – either single or double shots.
The name clay pigeon is used because up to the 1920s, they actually used real pigeons. Afterwards such practices were ruled as illegal. Although the pigeons are now made or clay, they are still called the “the bird”, a hit is still referred to as a “the kill”, a missed clay is called a “bird away”, and the machine which fires the Clay is still called “the trap”.
Taking place in a fantastic shoot range shooting range is just off Budapest city center.
