“What is a jamboree?” – A coming together of friends for the sole reason of having fun, enjoying activities and making memories.
It was really because of the shortage of information that the idea of 1stopjamboree came about. I had traveled a number of years throughout Europe and in some cites I really struggled getting around. Yes, language can be an issue, but the biggest problem was finding general information. What I needed was a centralise spot where I could find answers my questions about the city, no matter how crazy, outlandish or menial they seemed. What I needed was a local buddy on the ground.
It was after some former work colleagues contacted me asking if I could recommend somewhere for their corporate getaway that the first seeds of a Jamboree were sown. At the time I was in Gdansk, so I recommended coming there. I helped with organising the hotel, activities and transfers. Explained about the dos and don’ts and even took them on a pub crawl. I never knew it then, but I was their local buddy on the ground.
I guess looking back that was a Jamboree in its rawest form. A complete itinerary from arrival to departure. Today the methodology is still the same, but the fundamentals have been tweaked and clients are offered so much more.
I’m proud to know through 1stopJamboree, clients can have something I never had, complete confidence and more importantly, a local friend who knows the city.
